Director, Value Analysis - Mayo Clinic
Terri Nelson leads the Clinical Quality Value Analysis Team. This team facilitates the Value Analysis process, maintains the Product Formulary and manages the Product Recall/ Issue System across all Mayo Clinic campus; in addition the team provides Value Analysis insight to members of the Upper Midwest Consolidated Service Center (UMCSC).
Terri has been employed at Mayo Clinic for over 30 years in the roles of Staff Nurse, Nurse Manager, Practice Analysis and most recently as the Director of Value Analysis. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Winona State University, Winona MN and Master’s Degree with a dual focus in Health Human Service Administration and Management from St. Mary’s University, Winona MN.
Barbara Strain MA, CVAHP
Director of Value Management - University of Virginia Health System
Barbara Strain is the Director of Value Management at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA. In her current role Barbara directs the value management program which collaborates with physicians, nurses, staff and suppliers across the care continuum providing the infrastructure to standardize products and reduce practice variation. Barbara practices LEAN methodologies to identify and eliminate waste. Over the past 9 years her team of nurses and analysts use data analytics and systems thinking to produce more than $53M of savings.
Prior to establishing the Value Management department Barbara managed the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory operations at UVA. Additionally she served as chair of the institutional fire safety work-group and facilitated performance improvement initiatives as a Six Sigma Green Belt.
Barbara is a founding member, past president and current Southeast Region Director of the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP). Barbara has published articles on such topics as healthcare value management, supply chain & microbiology and speaks nationally on a variety of topics including personal viability, process improvement, sustainability and safety.
Gloria Graham DNP, RN, CVAHP
Clinical Value Analyst - Cincinnati Children’s
Gloria Graham is an experienced Registered Nurse with a demonstrated history as a healthcare industry operations leader with a track record of successfully developing and improving programs and processes through collaboration, innovation and patient-centric focus.
She has 30 years’ within the industry including experience in neuroscience, emergency medicine, forensic medicine, value analysis and supply chain. Dr. Graham has extensive experiences in supply chain management, value analysis, program/project management, patient safety and information technology with quantifiable success within healthcare organizations.
She is a nationally recognized speaker and a Past-President of the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP). Currently, she is a Clinical Value Analyst within the division of Contracts & Value Analysis for Supply Chain Management at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
She coordinates the clinical value analysis process and other supply chain activities related to patient care, quality and safety. As an internal liaison to both clinical and non-clinical staff, Dr. Graham has been able to share how clinicians and supply chain partner with each other for improved patient care and safety.
She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in Healthcare Leadership from Mount St. Joseph University, a Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Xavier University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Berea College.
Robin L. Lane BSN, RN, MBA, CVAHP
Senior Manager of Value Analysis - UPMC
Robin Lane has been a healthcare professional for more than 30 years. In her current position as Senior Manager of Value Analysis, she helped to create and implement, and now manages a system wide Value Analysis Program for the UPMC Health System. This includes the development of approximately 35 system value analysis teams, an executive oversight committee, and a technology review committee.
Acting as the Product Recall Officer, she manages a systemwide product recall system. Prior to her career in Supply Chain, Robin led the surgical services department of a system hospital managing four integrated departments and services, including OR, Central Sterile, PACU and Day of Surgery units.
Robin is one of the inaugural recipients of certification (CVAHP) from AHVAP in October 2015, and currently serves as the AHVAP President.
Dee Donatelli MBA, BSN, CMRP, CVAHP
Value Analysis Consulting Director - TractManager
Dee Donatelli is an experienced healthcare professional and nationally recognized expert in the field of healthcare value analysis. Having served the industry for over 40 years she is a popular speaker on the subject of clinical integration in healthcare supply chain.
Donatelli has advised some of the country’s leading healthcare organizations on cost reduction and established hundreds of value analysis committees nationwide. As a nurse and supply chain executive with over 25 years of healthcare consulting experience, she has focused on large scale supply chain operations improvement. She specializes in providing and executing on plans for supply chain to collaborate with physicians, while focusing on clinical evidence and protocols to reduce variation in practice and products.
As the Value Analysis Consulting Director at TractManager, Dee is poised to lead efforts in guiding organizations to an expanded realization of value through enhanced clinical integration in their value analysis process. To prepare she has held a number of leadership roles in high profile consulting organizations including, Cap Gemini Ernst and Young, Owens & Minor, VHA, Hayes Inc., Navigant and Vizient.
Dee is a former president of the Association of Healthcare Value Analysis Professionals (AHVAP) where she helped to facilitate the creation of Value Analysis Certification. Dee has been involved with the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM), serving at the state-level for Kansas, on the national board and recently was voted Chair Elect of the association. She has held certifications with both national organizations as well as Fellow Status with AHRMM.
In October of 2015 Dee was inducted into the Bellwether League and currently serves on the Bellwether League Board of Directors. This is in recognition of exemplary contributions to Healthcare Supply Chain Management; recognizing individuals for their development, growth, innovation and leadership.
Prior to establishing an independent consulting firm and joining TractManager, Dee served as the President and CEO of Mid-America Service Solutions, a Vizient Member Business Ventures network representing over 250 acute care and 1200 non-acute care facilities in a ten-state region. She is also a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
